The Col de Turini with friends and Six Pans Bagnats
We met early in the morning in Lantosque, far from the hustle and bustle and at the foot of the Col de Turini. But there was no question of going there directly: we chose a small road behind to reach the Col de la Porte, a little hidden in the Paillon Valley. The team was equipped with Scapadas, except for Adrien with his Paula, and even though he was pumped up, he was in the lead and calling the shots... at least, for now.

Between the Roya and Bevera valleys
First gentle climb of 20 kilometers to the Col de l'Orme, passing by small roads and the Col de Braus, where we approach 1000m of elevation gain. There's chatter, people eating bars, a pee break, and we meet Manu on a solo ride. He goes down, we go up: the team is in good shape, and half the elevation gain is in the bag. We continue at the same pace to Sospel, stopping here and there for a few photos, before the well-deserved refreshment stop at THE local bakery. In fact, we're so excited that we have an extra Pan Bagnat, it will make any Alpine hiker happy.
Sitting on a bench, bikes balanced on the wall, river in the background, it's the perfect moment. Ice cream for dessert, then we set off again to tackle the Turini: 24 km and 1250 m to swallow. At 2 p.m., under a blazing sun, the Notre Dame de la Ménour fountain, even dubious, is a blessing. A quick detour via the Roman bridge, and everyone takes a break in the shade or a mini-exploration to the chapel.

We set off again, and a break is essential at Moulinet where a fresh water fountain saves our water bottles. Matt takes the opportunity to dip his feet, Adrien goes for a freediving headfirst. Last push to the summit: the snack break is a bit of a drag for some, and the last few kilometers become a real test. Jeremy reaches the summit first, followed by Adrien after a full-blown battle with Matt. The rest of the team follows, no one is left behind!
L'Apogée: Terrace, Coca-Cola and Blueberry Pie
We head straight to the terrace: Cokes, giant syrups, and above all, THE Blueberry Tart. Sitting in the sun, we savor the moment before starting the final descent. The result: about 90 km, 2,500 m of elevation gain, and a day of pure pleasure.
