Arriving in Nice, Sebastian discovered Massacan via a podcast and then by crossing our bikes.
Seduced by the idea of supporting a local brand and convinced from his first visit to the Rifugio, he naturally chose a Scapada .
Coming from mountain biking and having only one bike, he was looking for a machine capable of doing everything: road, gravel and ultra.
With its elegant lines and versatility, the Scapada was a must-have.
Its particular size made custom geometry essential, completed by a personalized paint job that creates a unique bike, perfectly in its image.
His bike
His Scapada is built around a tailor-made geometry that fits him like a glove: lots of reach, very little stack, a taut and aggressive bike designed to fit his atypical size.
On the transmission side, he chose a bold and terribly efficient setup: a SRAM mule with a single chainring, combining a Force AXS crankset and shifters with the robustness of an XX AXS MTB derailleur and a 10-52 cassette at the rear.
The result: a huge development range, capable of handling both high percentages and long hours of riding on varied terrain.
For the wheels, Sebastian decided: his choice fell on a pair of Miche KLEOS 67 , beautiful aerodynamic carbon rims which further reinforce the racy side of the bike.
As for the cockpit, it is now entrusted to a Deda Superbox stem , coupled with a Vision Trimax carbon handlebar
A cockpit that is rigid, refined and perfectly integrated, which underlines the aesthetic balance of the whole.
The result is a Scapada with a strong character: a sleek, responsive bike, but ready to take it all on. Equally at home on the fast roads of the Riviera as on the steep gravel tracks of the Nice hills, it embodies exactly the versatility Sebastian was looking for.

In conclusion
Who better than the lucky owner to talk about it?

How did you discover Massacan?
It was thanks to the Cade Media podcast, then I ran into you on the road in Nice. The idea of supporting a local brand and a local business immediately spoke to me. When I went to the Rifugio for the first time, Matthieu gave me a super warm welcome, we hit it off straight away. And then between the super friendly atmosphere and the quality of the bike, I didn't really have a choice... I had to get a Massacan!
Why did you choose Scapada? You went for a full all-road setup, can you tell us a little more?
I wanted a bike that could do it all. I only have one (for now ;-)). I come from mountain biking so I ride a lot of gravel, but I also wanted to be able to go fast on the road. Scapada is the perfect compromise. And then the frame… it has lines that are both timeless and beautiful.
You also opted for custom geometry and paint. What was the idea behind that?
I have a somewhat unusual build: short legs, long torso. So having a custom-made geo was a real stroke of luck, as the bike fit me perfectly. And since I'm very sensitive to aesthetics, I wanted a well-integrated cockpit and perfect proportions.
When it came to painting, I wanted to express my personality, while keeping the Massacan style and a touch of timelessness. I like when things are unique, everything I own has always been personalized in one way or another ;)
You've just arrived in Nice, and you're still fairly new to cycling. What are you enjoying so far?
I love this city. It's the most beautiful I've ever lived in. The people are great too. Cycling came naturally here, the environment lends itself perfectly to it: it's a real paradise for riding. You can climb a pass at 2000 m altitude and finish your ride with a swim in the sea... it's hard to beat. Riding in Nice is really something: there's almost no flat, every ride makes you climb, and the general level of cyclists is super high. So you'd better get in shape quickly if you want to keep up ;)
I just wish there was a little more bike culture here, but I hope it will come.
Do you feel like you're enjoying riding more and more? Do you have any upcoming goals or ambitions? A legendary pass? A long distance?
Yes, I'm definitely enjoying it more and more. The Massacan family welcomed me really well, I met new people, and now I rarely ride alone. Plus, I feel like I'm progressing physically, so the climbs are getting easier.
Next year, I would like to participate in events like Le Pilgrimage or even the Traka 100. Not for the performance, just for the atmosphere, the sharing, and the good memories.
